Audian (Audie) Dunham is a senior level management consultant, leader, and executive coach with a thorough understanding of how vision, strategy, collaboration and teamwork can move organizations forward. He has extensive experience leading professional services organizations, and as a human resources & organization development executive with both Fortune 500 and mid-to-small size organizations. A major strength is his ability to quickly establish personal credibility and build relationships at any organizational level. Audie has been directly involved in leading startups and turnarounds, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate restructurings, where he gained significant experience in bringing about successful organization change. He offers a unique blend of business perspective, personal insight, and leadership knowledge and effectiveness to his clients.

His industry experience spans retailing, financial services, hi-tech, aerospace, and internet-based companies. From a functional and operating perspective, he possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in strategy development, high-level strategic workforce planning, sales effectiveness, marketing, leadership development, training, business coaching, change management and general human resources management.

Audie also has garnered extensive knowledge about Baby Boomer preferences, and advises organizations on how to utilize this enormous segment of the population to build competitive advantage. In 2006, he helped start a Web 2.0 Internet company that allows individuals with substantial tacit knowledge and experiential know-how to market themselves on the Web. In the process, he developed a deep understanding and appreciation for the aspirations of older workers to remain productively engaged beyond the traditional age for retirement.

Background

Audie has founded two successful companies of his own, and as CEO, brought Wilson Learning Corporation back to sound financial health from the brink of bankruptcy (permitting it to sell for 15 times EBITDA). His past includes leading RSM McGladrey’s $125 million national consulting practice, organizing and growing a cluster of emerging HR and Marketing consulting practices for Carlson Marketing Worldwide, and serving in a variety of top leadership capacities with Fortune 500 companies.

  • At Xerox, he was responsible for the company’s management development efforts and invented their “Building Block” approach to training and development. He was also a positive force in the establishment of Xerox’s Document University and helped the company to build a distinguished international reputation in the training & development field.
  • At Federated Department Stores, he served as Vice President–Human Resources Development for the parent company and as Senior Vice President–Human Resources and Senior Vice President–Store Operations for subsidiaries. He installed the company’s first management succession planning system, implemented a state-of-the-art Executive Leadership Institute for the company’s top 200 executives, and directed the large national recruiting office out of New York City. He helped produce millions of dollars in annual savings by reducing executive turnover more than 15%, and was honored as the “Top HR Executive” in Federated for two consecutive years.

Audie is the author of Planet Change: Bold New Approaches to Living in a Dramatically Altered World, published by GowthWorks in 1996. He has also written articles on business leadership and successful talent management.

Education and Career Development

Audie has a BS in Business & Psychology from Rollins College, has completed postgraduate work on an MBA at Florida Institute of Technology, and is a certified human capital strategist and executive coach (MBTI, Firo-B, and 360° survey feedback).
