Kate Knight
Executive Coach
Kate’s background is rich in starting new companies and helping entrepreneurs more effectively execute their strategies. Her career started by focusing on marketing and consulting to financial services companies at both the Chase Manhattan Bank and the Mitchell Madison Group (MMG) in New York City. Although large companies, she participated in start-up groups within both – a newly created insurance group at Chase and the securities practice at MMG.
After business school in 2000, Kate joined two other classmates in starting a dot-com company, U-Inspire.com, focusing on inspirational and motivational content. As dot.com market conditions changed, the three quickly adapted U-Inspire and developed a consulting model that helped companies more effectively motivate and communicate with their employees. From there, Kate started her own consulting firm focused on marketing and communications. In this role, Kate has led executives in their strategic planning process; acted as interim VP of Human Resource; developed strategies for building and growing a brand; and interviewed and hired senior executives. In 2002-2003, she was an adjunct professor at the Carlson Undergraduate School of Business at the University of Minnesota where she taught Entrepreneurship.
Kate loves new ideas, new business, and new challenges and is a self-starter with great attention to execution. She is a great listener and communicator.
Kate received her undergraduate degree in marketing from Boston College
and her MBA from the Harvard Business School. She is active in the community
and has served as the President of the Harvard Business School Alumni
Club of Minnesota, co-chair of the Boston College Alumni Club, sat on
the board of directors for the Boston College Marketing Department and
currently is a member of the Junior League of Minneapolis. She is married
to Patrick and has two daughters. Kate is based in Minneapolis.
